Christophe Agou was a French documentary photographer and street photographer and his work has been published in books and is held in public collections and he was a member of the in public street photography collective. He began photographing on the streets and later on in the subways feeling an almost mystical force leading him and the energy of the streets and human interactions has been sources of inspiration ever since he moved. At first he felt that the thousand word picture was it but then realized it was not enough to convey his feelings. Storytelling became essential working in a series sequencing images with one another in order to create a visual narrative and he grew up in a small town in the forez region. Christophe made documentary style photographs in both black and white and color which take an allusive approach to the human condition and he also made short films and sculpture. Christophe began taking photographs in the streets that evoked a sense of longing and isolation and he traveled to the lesser known parts of the region and got to know a community of family farmers whose identities are deeply rooted to the land which he photographed and filmed them at work and home for eight years which resulted in face au silence and past away as the result of cancer.
